lyrics
count down all the reasons that you're scared
starting with the weather that you figure no human has fared
ending with the people that you know never loved you nor cared
and a sky so big you could fall in
count down all the reasons that you live
starting with a house on a hill with a garden to give
ending with the lover that you wanna be accompanied with
and a menagerie of cats
i ain't ever been burned so badly
i ain't ever been burned so badly,
i saw the fire and i jumped in.
i don't care if you're loving her now
climb down honey just climb down off that horse
you know that rhetoric wouldn't do much, of course,
although you never wanted to use power or force
so climb down, climb down

A bit late to this party, but what a find! A record to cherish, which synthesises so much that's worth hearing from Indie's past into something beautiful. Great music and pin-sharp lyrics. "Pretty Soon...." is as articulate a comment on the Daily Mail generation's self-righteous BS as you'll hear anywhere and I'm old enough to know, sadly. Hats off to this great band, looking forward to more. It'slove

In a more perfect world, this band would blaring out of every radio on Earth. The lyrics, the vocals, the just-outta-teens snark and earnestness... so much to love. paulimboden
